During one of my past travels to Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, I visited the toilet to relieve myself.

While standing at a urinal, I noticed a small fly sitting near the bottom of the bowl. My fascination soon turned to frustration, as no matter how hard I tried or how well I aimed, I could not dislodge the bugger from its spot.

Eventually I lost the battle, and started zipping up may pants.
I happened to glance over at the urinal next to me as I stepped away (no, it's not what you're thinking!), and saw an identical fly sitting there in exactly the same spot!

This was too much of a coincidence and so I did some investigating. To my astonishment, an outline of a fly is actually painted into the porcelain of the bowl, to act as a "target" for men who come to pee.

Apparently over 85% of men react exactly the same way as me when faced with a "challenge" of this sort, and it reduces the spillage to a minimum.

I had a look - the floor below the urinal was one of the cleanest I had ever seen ...
