I used to visit my late grandmother once a week in the old age home. She would often go on for hours about complete rubbish, and for most of the time I'd just nod my head and listen politely.

On one occasion, she started telling me about her new "boyfriend" George. George had been peppering her with gifts in an attempt to win her over.

One of the gifts that George had given to my gran was a box of chocolate-covered almonds. She didn't have the heart, however, to tell him that they were too hard to bite through with her dentures.
So to avoid the problem, my gran removed her dentures and then sucked the chocolate off each of the almonds, before replacing them in the bowl.

At this point in her story, I realised to my horror that I had in fact been nushing quite happily on a bowl of nuts that I had picked up from next to her bed ...
